Celebrations for Iceland and Andorra

Iceland and Andorra celebrated today as their team won the Beach Volleyball competition after finals against Monaco and Liechtenstein, respectively.Iceland showed it‘s best in the second set against Monaco. After a narrow 21-19 in the first set Iceland dominated the second one and built up 17-8 and 20-9 leads to win 21-13.
Monaco would have gotten the gold by winning today but ended with the bronze after losing to Liechtenstein yesterday as well. Liechtenstein managed to hold on to the silver medal despite losing 1-2 to Cyprus today (19-21, 21-17, 15-12).
Malta ended fifth after winning Luxembourg 2-1 (21-18, 13-21, 16-14)
Andorra played it‘s „get-out-of-jail-free “ card in the men‘s final. Liechtenstein won the first set 21-17 and had Andorra walking on a tightrope in the second one.
However Andorra won it 20-22 and dominated the third set, 7-15.
Cyprus won the bronze medal after 2-0 win over Luxembourg (21-15, 21-13.)
